Features of the process

The product we apply to paintwork is called Pro-Seal. It is of German origin and conforms to (Boeing D6-17487 Revision L). It is by structure a complex Polydimethylane copolymer resin containing a powerful Ultra-Violet screening agent which resists the deterioration effect of sunlight on paintwork.
The polar nature of the aminofunctioal groups and the ability of the sealant to cure (polymerise), causes polish films to bond and adhere to all various Poly Urethane, epoxy and polyamide coating systems. The surface formed is of a durable nature with a very high gloss which greatly simplifies cleaning. Washing is normally carried out with plain water or a little mild detergent is usually required for oil or exhaust stains. Pro-Seal also resists salt attack and is extremely beneficial in minimising corrosion around rivets, seams etc. The paint sealant process also has CASR Approval Part 145 1-U8YLD for aviation use.

The application technique involves the use of special double headed rotary orbital polishers, designed originally by the US Airforce. These machines allow our operators to successfully and safely work on and around rivet heads. These units are also designed to create just sufficient heat in the painted panels to bond the protective resin to the surface.

In the case of re-painting or touch up being necessary, the panels can be washed down thoroughly with a solvent, such as Prep solve, thus causing no problems when applying new surface coatings.

We recommend that aircraft protected by Pro-Seal have their painted surfaces re-sealed annually under a maintenance program.

Advantages & Benefits of the process:

  • Extends the lifespan of painted surface
  • Resists the deterioration effect of sunlight on paintwork
  • SImplifies the cleaning process
  • Resists salt attack
  • Resists effects of acid rain
  • Ideal in minimising corrosion
  • Professional finish, projecting a first class image
  • Low cost to aircraft operatios
